December 30, 2021
Dear college students and youths:
The undersigned are seniors presenting you with an awesome task: 2050 Philippine Challenge:
Prosperity and Global Excellence.
Rationale for the challenge:
a. The current major problems and opportunities require a long-term perspective. Thus, the time
period till 2050 is deemed necessary for the undertakings at hand.
b. By 2050, you will just be in your late 40s or early 50s. You have to attend to these
problems even now and not wait when it is already near 2050.
c. Moreover, your challenge is to transform Philippine society and its image by contributing to
global excellence, particularly in major social systems.
Required mindset to take on the challenge:
a. Bilib sa sarili, sa ating sarili. By understanding ourselves, including our history and culture,
you can and you will create prosperity and global excellence.
b. Think big. Dream big. Let us not be content with poverty alleviation and mediocre
performance; aspire for high-incomes through innovation.
c. Strategy Formulation and Implementation. You must build a clear-cut path to your future. We
could instead share a meaningful process for social change through major social systems
development.
d. Organization and management. Part of the process of change requires acquiring core
management skills to handle major social systems including analysis and understanding of
current local and foreign systems.
e. Fidelity. One key success factor is to adhere to basic human values.
f. Energy not entropy. Hard work, sacrifice and persistence are called for.
In essence, the challenge is to build a prosperous national community that will contribute to
global well-being.
The undersigned will actively help through whatever means possible to increasing awareness
towards mass-participation.
Sincerely,
Francisco L. Roman
